Today was Rebecca's first day of Mother's Morning Out. She was a little unsure of it when I left her there, but she quickly recovered. I handed her off to her teacher, Ms. Stacy, and Rebecca started to cry. I stood outside the door until another parent checked in on her and told me she was happy and playing. It only took 60 seconds for her to get over the fact that I was leaving her with strangers.
Ms. Stacy called me about an hour after I left Rebecca with her. She said that Rebecca was having a great time. I even got pictures sent to me over the phone of Rebecca playing and smiling.
I wanted to come back home and nap for three hours since I had the house to myself. Instead, I ran, cleaned bathrooms, vacuumed, made ASP phone calls, got dressed, made Rebecca's lunch, and went to the post office. I even showed up a little early to get my baby.
She had so much fun at MMO. Her teachers said that she had a blast on the playground, and she was showing all her classmates how to climb. (Imagine that, Rebecca climbing.) She was the only one who did not fuss during arts and crafts. She made the cutest footprint ghost. I can't wait for her to bring it home to hang on the fridge.
MMO was a huge success. Hopefully next week will be more of the same.
In other news, Rebecca is talking so much. She can almost repeat anything you say. She loves to point out Mommy's ears, eyes, nose, and mouth. She can also say apple, milk, juice, LaLa (Laura), Josh, choo choo (train), pane (airplane), bath, book, park, dog, cat, and Kato (Nannie and Papa's cat).
I think she is super smart, but I am biased.
