In to everything

It has been very hard lately to find the time to sit down and blog. That is because I am constantly chasing around Rebecca. She is crawling all over the place and I can not take my eyes off of her for a second. She wants to check out every little nook and cranny all over the house. Instead of blogging when she is napping, I have been cleaning very thoroughly and baby proofing the house. I have to make sure there is nothing on the floor, because anything she finds goes straight in her mouth. When will that end?

These past few weeks have been so fun with Rebecca. It seems that everyday she is able to do something new. She has figured out how to sit up from being on her tummy. She is pulling up to stand. She is clapping. She is dancing (I will get a video soon.). She says lala and dada. She started saying baba yesterday, and I think she said ma but I have not heard it again. She makes the funniest faces. When she wants something she scrunches up her face, puckers her lips, and huffs. It is hilarious. My sister, Denise, use to do this when she was little.

Here are a couple of pictures I took the past week. As you can see, she is all over the place.

My attempt to keep her in one place. She is watching Baby Einstein.

Beach Bums

Tuesday, April 15, 2008

Sorry I have been such a bad blogger lately, but I have a good excuse. We have been in Florida. John, Rebecca, and I went to Sanibel with John's parents, his sister, and her family. We had so much fun! The weather was perfect, about 80 each day. We took Rebecca to the beach and swimming in the pool. She loved being in the water. She also loves being in public around a lot of people. When she gets around a lot of people, she has to be the loudest person in the room. She wants to be the center of attention. John says she gets this from her mother. On the plane and at any restaurant we went to she would start talking and not stop until we left. We are not sure what she is saying, but it sounds a lot like "hey, allo, allo, lalalalalalalalalalalalalaladalalala". I am still working with her to say "mama". She also had her first sick visit to the doctor when we were in Florida. She had a nasty cough. The doctor said it was probably a viral infection, and as long as she wasn't running a fever, we could continue with our plans. In other big news, Rebecca started crawling. She is still pretty slow and hasn't quite gotten the rhythm down, but she can get to where she wants to go. That is pretty scary to me. The days of finding her where I left her are no more. The baby gates are up, and the baby proofing has begun!

Graduation Plus

Tuesday, April 1, 2008

Rebecca graduated from Level One at Gymboree yesterday. For those of you who do not know, Gymboree is a place that has Mommy and Me classes. In Level One we would sing songs to our babies, do baby massages, blow bubbles, and let the babies do tummy time on a mirror all facing each other. Very cute! Since Rebecca is now sitting up on her own, it is time to move up to Level Two. I am very excited and can not wait to see what we will do in our new class.
To celebrate Rebecca's big day, I bought her more of her favorite toys, balls. It is hilarious watching her try to pick them all up at once. One time she had one ball in each hand, and was trying to get a third with her mouth. Of course my camera was no where near. It is funny how Rebecca has all these toys that make noises and play music, but her favorite is so simple...a ball.

In other big news, Rebecca has slept for over 11 hours the past two nights. It has seemed that since we got back from Athens, she wakes up every night at 2:30 and cries. So I am relieved that she has been doing so well. Hopefully she will keep it up, until we go out of town again and get her all messed up.

She also got her first bobo yesterday. She was sitting up playing with her cups. She fell over and landed on her cheek on top of a cup. She cried and cried. She just has a little bruise on her cheek today.

Last but not least, Rebecca got her first french kiss today...from a pit bull. And, she liked it!
