I Heart Gymbo

Sunday, June 22, 2008

One of Rebecca's favorite things to do these days is to go to Gymboree. She loves being around other children and adults. She is such a social butterfly. At the beginning of our class, everyone sits in a circle. We sing songs while the babies sit in our laps. Rebecca refuses to stay in my lap, because she wants to crawl around the circle and visit with everyone. Luckily no one seems to mind having two babies in their lap. After we do circle time, we have free play time. Free play is a lot of fun now that Rebecca is able to get around on the equipment. Here are a few pictures of her at Gymboree.

Rebecca had a few play dates at our house last week. One was with Jack Gorney, one of her many boyfriends.
The other play date was with Rebecca's BFF Amelia Comeaux. Amelia seems so much younger than Rebecca now, but they will be in the same grade. Hopefully at the same school, if we can keep the Comeaux Family from moving out of our neighborhood.
Rebecca has become a big help around the house. Here she is helping Mommy fold clothes.

Nine Months

Friday, June 13, 2008

It is hard to believe that my baby is already 9 months old. I remember when Rebecca was only a few weeks old and seeing babies that were around 9 months. They seemed so big. It seemed like a lifetime away for Rebecca to reach that age. Now she is here. She is utterly amazing. I am sure that I am biased, but I think that she is the funniest and cutest baby EVER! She makes me laugh every day with her facial expressions and her sounds. I love that she has never met a stranger. She will go to anyone and talks to everyone she sees. She is simply the best.

We had her 9 month appointment yesterday. Dr. Knox said she looked great and is a healthy girl. Here are her stats:

Weight: 18 lbs. 5oz. 50%
Height: 27 1/2 in. 50%
Head: 46 cm. 90%

Dr. Knox also said that we can start feeding her real food. So we came home and I fed her cooked carrots, chicken sticks (yuck), and some whole wheat pasta noodles. She loved it. We are working on her feeding herself. It is going very slowly.
Here is a picture of Rebecca and her Daddy at the air show at PDK Airport last Saturday. We strolled over there from the house and stayed only a little while. It was so hot!

Dancing Queen

Saturday, June 7, 2008

I love it whenever I catch Rebecca doing something for the first time. It's amazing to watch how much she is learning and changing. I was especially proud when I caught her yesterday dancing for the first time. Luckily I had my camera close by. She definitely gets her dancing skills from her mother.

Nothing to say and too busy to say it

Tuesday, June 3, 2008

Some weeks I find it really hard to blog. It is either that I have nothing to say or no time to say it. This past week, it has been a little bit of both. Last week we were busy unwinding from our trip to Cleveland, going to the zoo, and packing for the weekend in Chattanooga. This week we are getting ready for playgroup at our house. As for Rebecca, she is just as cute as ever, but has no new tricks. However, be on the lookout for the post about her walking. It is going to happen soon!

I have posted some pictures from this past week.
Animals we saw at the zoo:
baby warthog
