On the morning of the 4th, we headed downtown for the street festival. For those of you from Cleveland, it reminds me a lot of Crosstie or October Fest. There are tons of people, lots of arts and crafts booths, food everywhere you look, and some fun things for the kids.
First, Rebecca, Papa, and I rode on the train.
It looks innocent enough, right? Wrong! It was a train ride from &%#@! The conductor had the train twisting and turning and going around and around and around in circles. Rebecca didn't seem to mind, but Rusty and I were both green when we got off. Rebecca's older cousins thought that the conductor had been hitting the juice a little too early in the morning.
After the train John and I got some lemonade, or I should say that Rebecca and I got lemonade. I do not think that Rebecca was sharing very well with her daddy.

Then she decided to take a stroll, just like last year.
and play in a fire truck. She wanted to push all the buttons in there, and got really mad at us when we would not let her.

Rebecca pitched a fit all the way down the street from the firehouse to Rocky's, an old soda shop. I think the poor baby was starving, because she at more than John and I did put together.

After lunch we headed back to our house for nap time. Here Rebecca is napping with Papa, Caroline, Lucy, and Mimi.

After nap time, we went to Brevard College to look for white squirrels. Rebecca was so excited to see one and chase it.

I felt really bad because there were a few people at the college trying to take pictures of this white squirrel, and Rebecca chased it up the tree and out of sight. Oh well, she had a blast.
We had a wonderful 4th. We are already looking forward to next year.
Rebecca and I were able to stay a few days more after the 4th. John had to get back to work. We had a blast with Mimi and Papa, and I was very thankful for the help.
