Party at Frosty's

A new ice cream shoppe recently opened up near our house.  It is an old caboose that was redone, and it is totally cute!  We have been so excited to try it.  

The name of the ice cream shoppe is Frosty's Caboose.  My brother-in-law, Rob (Wob), thinks the name sounds more like nightclub than a ice cream shoppe.  Either way,  we had to try it out.

Two Weekends in a Row

We have had the pleasure of having company the past few weekends.  My sister Denise (Neisa), Rob (Wob), and Mae (Mae Mae) came to visit two weekends ago.  Then Neisa and Mae left for Florida; Rob, unfortunately had to head home to work.  But they all came back the following weekend and brought my mom and dad (Nannie and Pop Pop) with them.  

We had a lot of fun doing a whole lot of nothing other than eating, sleeping, playing inside, playing outside, playing on the park swing, and eating.  I even have pictures to prove it.  

 

Mae and Rebecca got along really well.  They even played together some.  Rebecca is moving past the parallel play more and more, and she is learning to share better and better.  Don't get me wrong, she still has her moments, but she is taking baby steps in the right direction.

As I was looking at this picture I took the other day, it reminded of another picture that was taken of Rebecca a little over two years ago.  

I was 18 weeks and 5 days pregnant.  It was April 12, 2007.  It was the day we found out Rebecca was a healthy girl.  

Isn't it amazing that I was just into my 2nd trimester and how much she was formed?  Her profile was already made.  

It makes me think, "Isn't God amazing?!"

She Loves Ducks

Remember last time we took her to see the ducks.

This time was not much different.  I had to hold her back from jumping in the water, and I had to chase her as she chased the ducks.  She was so excited to see them.  She would scream "DUCKS!  DUCKS!"  just like last time.  It was so cute, a lot of fun, and a lot of work.

We went with Ellen, Julie, and Amelia to feed the ducks.  I am not sure who got more bread, the ducks or Rebecca.  She would eat a bite, then throw a bite to the ducks.  She also had fun climbing on the rocks and walking over the bridge.  We also had a semi-picnic.  Rebecca and I actually ate our sandwiches on the way to the park.  

I know that Rebecca looks like a ragamuffin, but she insist on wearing these boots everywhere.  They were Mae's, and I think she was attached to them as well.   I am not sure what is going on with the bow.  It obviously did not stay where it was put.

How To

How to entertain a 20 month old while you clean the kitchen:

Take a toy out of it's usual room, turn in on it's side, and give said child an unassembled sippy cup.  She was  out of my hair happy as a lark for 25 minutes.

Please excuse the half-dressed baby.  She refuses to wear a bib when she is eating, but she hates getting her clothes dirty.  So she insist on stripping down before each meal.  

Very Lucky

Not only am I a very lucky Mommy, I am a very lucky daughter.  I have a wonderful mother, and I strive each day to be more like her.  Happy Mother's Day!
